Class Description:

Learn how to make paper-maché masks that won’t fall apart like piñatas! This five-hour class will include historical information about Western mask traditions and intensive hands-on instruction on how to craft a durable piece built to withstand reuse and frequent handling. Each participant will learn to create forms, apply the medium, and finish the final product. Additionally, all students will leave with sample pieces, detailed instructions outlining each step of the construction process, and the teaching resources to bring mask-making into your classroom or community center.

Requirements:

Please plan to get your hands dirty and to bring a lunch.
