about the bard academy
Class Description: What’s better than one sharp, pointy thing? Two sharp, pointy things! Fight director Larry Barrott continues his series of Stage Combat Workshops with a class that focuses on learning to fight with broadsword and rapier. For the brave of heart, the broadsword was the medieval weapon of choice while the lighter, more elegant rapier epitomizes the quick fighting style of the renaissance and Elizabethan periods. Come learn the two most common weapons used in Shakespeare productions around the world. Requirements: No prior stage combat experience required, but please dress for movement and bring plenty of water! |
![]() He made confession of you; And gave you such a masterly report For art and exercise in your defence, And for your rapier most especially, That he cried out 'twould be a sight indeed If one could match you.
