about the bard academy

Welcome to the Bard Academy of the Bay Area - a division of Shady Shakespeare Theatre Company!

Welcome to the Bard Academy of the Bay Area, an education program designed to meet the specific needs of Silicon Valley performing artists and educators. We are delighted to offer classes designed to help students better understand the Bard's text, better represent themselves as artists, and develop skills to make them stronger Shakespearean actors and technicians.

In 2010, Bard Academy will be providing opportunities in three areas:

  • Master Classes for Actors and Technicians - For adult artists looking to improve their skills.
  • Shakespeare Camp for Youth and Teens - For students ages 8 - 13 and 14 - 18.
  • NEW: Educators' Series - Designed specifically to assist educators in honing skills that can be passed on to their students.
